Gdansk is a lively city in the North of Poland, on the coast of the Baltic Sea. It is one of the country’s main academic centres, as well as one of the top tourist destinations. Highlights include the medieval Hanseatic old town, a beautiful beach on the Baltic, the early 1900s spa resort of Sopot, and the Solidarity museum in the former Gdansk shipyard. The city has direct flight connections from many destinations in Europe, including cheap flights by Ryanair and Wizzair.
